da Vinci® Surgical System

We are proud to offer the da Vinci Surgical System as a means of treatment for our patients. The da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic surgical system that offers many benefits to both physicians and patients.

Benefits of the da Vinci Surgical Sytem

For the surgeon, the ability to perform complex minimally invasive procedures as if they were performing open surgery procedures without the fatigue experienced in a long procedure. For the patient, numerous benefits, already common in existing laparoscopic procedures including reduced bleeding, less pain, reduced risk of internal scarring, shorter hospital stay and faster recovery are possible.

Laparoscopic Surgery

For over three decades, Advanced Urology Associates has performed laparoscopic nephrectomy, or kidney removal surgery, for patients with kidney cancer or other ailments. Our medical professionals serve in clinical centers around the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area including Joliet, Naperville, and New Lenox. We also offer partial nephrectomy, where only part of the kidney is removed, depending on the specific disease. Small incisions are made on the patient’s abdomen, instead of one large incision, required with traditional open surgery, like other kidney removal procedures.

Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP)

TURP is the gold standard to which other surgeries for BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) are compared. BPH causes an enlarged prostate, which in turn leads to issues with urination, like frequent urination. The TURP procedure alleviates these urinary issues.
